As the children are welcomed into Chai After School, they will be given a warm snacks and some wind-down time after a long day in school.
Morasha
We hope to engage your child's sense of identity by capturing his/her imagination and attention. Therefore, we put a lot of effort into providing our students with substantive lessons and a positive atmosphere.
Using the highly acclaimed Morasha curriculums, students will embark on an adventure of self discovery and commitment. Our curriculum is immersive and transformative and will encourage your child to form deep attachments to the Jewish heroes of our past on practical, emotional, and spiritual levels.
Using educational tools such as art, topography, theater, filmmaking, STEAM, Virtual Reality and more, students will relive the journey of our ancestors and be given tools to implement the values learned in our story. The deeply engaging curriculum will further your child’s cognitive development and self-expression and give them a strong sense of wellbeing and Jewish pride.
Alef Champ
Hebrew is not just another language. It’s the language of our ancestors and the Torah. In Hebrew, each letter holds its unique meaning and depth, and must therefore be explored.
At Chai After School, we believe that learning Hebrew will strengthen one’s Jewish pride, knowledge base, and social-confidence. At After School, we reserve twenty minutes to focus on our Hebrew progression.
Using the highly acclaimed Aleph Champ curriculum, students learn at their own pace with success as their motivation. Today, Aleph Champ is on the cutting edge of Hebrew reading in Hebrew Schools worldwide. Modeled after the Martial Arts ranking system, it clearly breaks down Hebrew reading into manageable goals and levels defined by color.
Aleph Champ allows for multiple students to learn simultaneously in one classroom while each child progresses at the pace they feel comfortable. This program ensures that students do not go on to a new level until they have truly mastered all that their current level expects them to know. Moving up in levels is proof of hard work and determination and is therefore a source of pride, leading to self motivation and success.
Aleph Champ Levels:
White Aleph Champion - Master the first 18 letters of the Aleph Bet.
Red Aleph Champion - Master all 32 letters of the Aleph Bet.
Orange Aleph Champion - Master the first 3 vowels with letter combinations.
Yellow Aleph Champion - Master the first 6 vowels with letter combinations.
Green Aleph Champion - Master the first 9 vowels with letter combinations.
Blue Aleph Champion - Master all the vowels and exceptions to the rules.
Purple Aleph Champion - Master reading basic prayers.
Brown Aleph Champion - Master reading higher level Tefillot.
Grey Aleph Champion - Master reading from the Siddur in a timed fashion.
Black Aleph Champion - Master reading over 100 words in a minute.
JewQ
JewQ challenges students to learn independently and master fundamental concepts of Judaism. Your child will broaden their knowledge of Judaism in an interactive and exciting way, culminating in local championships, a grand Shabbaton and an international championship with contestants from around the world!
